The Via Francigena was an ancient road connecting Canterbury in England to Rome in Italy, passing through Tuscany. Used by pilgrims during the Middle Ages, the Via Francigena played a vital role in the region’s cultural, political, and economic development connecting Italy to the rest of Europe. Today, The Tuscany trail, in our opinion, is the most scenic way to explore the region while uncovering the richness of Italy’s history and culture.
